Cont. About 90% of the villagers are depend on agriculture. Nearly half of the total houses are engaged in dairy farming which is one of the main sources of income.The village may soon become one of the most self sufficient village in the state.

Serkhan village situated in the northern side of the capital Aizawl about 30 kms away. There are about 170 houses. There are four schools viz. 1. Lal Thanhawla High School 2. Govt. Middle School 3. Govt. Primary School 4. Cee Tee Academy. The facilities of Water supply still remain inadequate during winter season.There is a health sub centre with two health workers. There are two anganwadi centers. The village economy is worth to mention as there have been great improvement since 2010. Villagers start growing cash crops which greatly affect their work culture and standard of living. Since then the annual income grows year after year.
